JP Touchette is an American musician, photographer, filmmaker, magician and graphic designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production.

Drumming, perhaps the most prominent of his escapades, is showcased in his tribute to Ginger Baker. This drum video contains a 7 minute long solo featuring the skills JP learned from years of studying the Afro-Brit style of Ginger Baker. His latest blues-rock band, Tempest, incorporates this exciting style of music. JP has also frequently played with the famed African Tam Tam drummers at Parc George-Etienne in Montreal.

JP's love for all things visceral and colorful presents itself especially well in his photographic work. Ranging from people to near microscopic arthropods, each creature is treated with the utmost respect and admiration. JP seeks to bring to light both the grandest and most mundane to the forefront of his audience's consciousness. All this in hopes that these subjects will command the same wonder that JP witnessed himself before clicking the shutter.

Aside from showing people things as they are, JP also takes pleasure in presenting artforms that are not as they seem. For nearly a decade he has spent countless hours mastering the ways of illusion and sleight of hand. Through gambling demonstrations and street magic, JP has confuzzled the minds of many. Making them question whether or not they should have kept their wallet at home.

All accomplishments and embellishments aside, JP Touchette considers himself a lifelong student and arrives at each opportunity with an eagerness to learn. One is never complete, nor all knowing. To live is to search and discover for we must remain fully open to what the future may hold.
